How Surrogacy Compensation is Determined?
Surrogacy offers unique financial rewards and the chance to make a profound difference in someone’s life. While all surrogates receive compensation, the total amount depends on several factors, including:
-
Age
-
BMI
-
Vaginal vs C-Section Delivery
-
One successful pregnancy & birth
-
Parenting at least one child
-
Previous surrogacy experience
-
Place of Residence
Why Do Experienced Surrogates Earn More?
Experienced surrogates often receive higher compensation for several key reasons:
-
Proven Track Record: Surrogates who have successfully completed a surrogacy journey have demonstrated their ability to navigate the process, including medical appointments, legal processes, and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.
-
Reduced Risk: For intended parents and surrogacy agencies, working with an experienced surrogate lowers the risk involved. These surrogates are already familiar with the physical and emotional demands of surrogacy, reducing uncertainty and easing concerns.
-
Faster Matching: Intended parents often prefer experienced surrogates, leading to quicker matches. The familiarity with the process and expectations makes experienced surrogates more sought-after candidates.
-
Emotional Preparedness: Having gone through surrogacy before, experienced surrogates are better prepared for the emotional aspects of the journey, which can be invaluable in maintaining a positive relationship with the intended parents and handling the unique dynamics of surrogacy.
-
Expertise in Communication: Surrogacy involves regular communication between the surrogate, intended parents, medical professionals, and legal teams. Experienced surrogates are well-versed in maintaining clear, professional communication, ensuring a smoother overall process.
