Becoming a surrogate is a rewarding journey that allows you to help create a family while experiencing the support and care of a dedicated team. At Babymoon Surrogacy, we are dedicated to being with you every step of the way, offering guidance, resources, and a community of support. Here’s what to expect as a surrogate with us, based on our proven process and commitment to your well-being.

1. Initial Consultation and Application Process

Your surrogacy journey begins with an initial consultation and prescreening. During this stage, you’ll meet with a Match Specialist to learn more about the surrogacy process, screening requirements, and compensation and benefits.

You’ll then complete your surrogate profile, sharing your background, preferences, and motivations. Once submitted, we’ll schedule a one-on-one interview to discuss your experience and goals in greater detail.

From the beginning, we focus on creating strong matches between surrogates and intended parents, ensuring everyone feels confident moving forward together.

2. Matching with Intended Parents

Next, we’ll begin the process of matching you with intended parents. Matching is one of the most meaningful parts of your surrogacy experience. Once your profile is ready, we’ll begin sharing it with intended parents who align with your values and preferences.

When a family expresses interest, you’ll review their profile and, if there’s mutual interest, participate in a guided video match call. This allows everyone to connect, ask questions, and see if it feels like the right match.

We believe in creating matches where both surrogates and intended parents feel supported, which is why we make sure to take your preferences into account, ensuring compatibility and shared goals.

3. Medical and Psychological Screenings

With your match in place, you’ll begin the medical and psychological screening stage to ensure you’re physically and emotionally ready for surrogacy. This includes a full medical check-up where your IVF clinic will review your medical records, and you’ll complete a psychological evaluation.

Next, you’ll attend an in-person medical screening appointment at the IVF clinic, where lab work, ultrasounds, and other tests will be completed to obtain medical clearance.

This process is vital to ensure that you’re fully prepared for a healthy pregnancy and that you have the emotional resources to handle the responsibilities of surrogacy.

4. Legal Agreements

Surrogacy is a legal process as well as a personal one. Once you’ve been matched, the next step is drafting the legal agreements that outline everyone’s roles and responsibilities. You’ll work with an independent attorney, paid for by the intended parents, who will guide you through your Gestational Surrogacy Agreement (GSA) to ensure your rights are protected and everything is clearly outlined. This contract will cover important aspects such as compensation, parental rights, medical care, and decision-making during the pregnancy.

After both parties review and sign the agreement, it’s notarized and sent to the IVF clinic for legal clearance. You’ll then be connected directly with your intended parents through a shared communication channel managed by your journey coordinator, allowing you to begin building your relationship as you move forward together.

5. Embryo Transfer and Pregnancy

Once the legal contracts are signed, the medical process begins with the embryo transfer. You’ll follow a treatment plan prepared by a fertility clinic to get your body ready, which might include medications to prepare your uterus for implantation. The embryo transfer itself is quick and minimally invasive.

After a successful pregnancy confirmation, you’ll attend regular OB appointments. Throughout the pregnancy, our team will be in close contact with you to ensure you’re supported, healthy, and well-cared for.

6. Pregnancy Process

Once your pregnancy is confirmed, the IVF clinic will monitor your early pregnancy before transitioning your care to your OB/GYN. Throughout your pregnancy, your journey coordinator will stay in close contact, offering guidance, emotional support, and resources.

During this time, your legal team will help establish a Pre-Birth Order (PBO), ensuring that the intended parents’ names are on the baby’s birth certificate and that all parental rights are legally secured before delivery.

You’ll also work with your obstetrician to create a personalized birth plan that reflects your comfort, preferences, and medical needs.

7. Delivery and Post-Delivery Care

The birth is an incredibly special moment where you get to witness the joy of the intended parents meeting their baby for the first time. You’ll have a delivery plan in place to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and prepared. Our team will work closely with you to coordinate with your OB, confirm the delivery hospital, and finalize any other details.

After delivery, our team will continue to support you with postpartum care, emotional check-ins, and any medical follow-up you need. You will also be supported as you recover with compensation for any extended postpartum care, such as milk pumping or rest periods. Your recovery and well-being remain our top priority long after delivery.
